Koi Ice x Waiākea: Hydrating the Community.

What started as a conversation has officially turned into action.

This week, Koi Ice proudly received our first delivery from Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water, marking the beginning of a partnership we’re truly excited about. First and foremost, we want to give a huge thank you to Jason and the Waiākea team for believing in our vision and taking care of us from the start.

As a small business, opportunities like this mean everything. To have a nationally recognized company align with a growing local brand like Koi Ice is not something we take lightly. It gives us the opportunity to grow our branding, elevate our activations, and continue bringing authentic Hawaiian-inspired experiences to our community.

As soon as the water arrived, we knew exactly what we wanted to do first.

For Mother’s Day weekend at the Great American Foodie Fest in Las Vegas, we wanted to give back to the mothers spending their day in the desert heat with family, friends, children, and grandchildren. Throughout the event, every mother who purchased from Koi Ice received a complimentary bottle of Waiākea water to stay hydrated during the hot sunny day.

This was our way of sharing the Mahalo spirit, showing appreciation, love, and hospitality through action.

The response from the crowd was incredible. Over the peak hours of the event, we were able to hydrate more than 100 mothers while serving our signature Hawaiian shave ice creations. Seeing the smiles, conversations, and appreciation throughout the festival reminded us why community always comes first.

Alongside the activation, we also introduced our collaborative signature creation:

Our featured Waiākea collaboration flavor combines:

  • Blue Raspberry

  • Blue Vanilla

  • Blue Hawaii

Finished with:

  • Orchid garnish

  • Scoop of vanilla ice cream

  • Coconut snow cap drizzle

Using Waiākea water within the process creates a smoother, refreshing finish that makes the flavor combination stand out. The Hilo was designed to bring together vibrant island flavors with the cooling experience of authentic Hawaiian shave ice.

And this is only the beginning.

Looking ahead, Koi Ice has several upcoming activations where we’ll continue showcasing Waiākea water alongside our featured Hilo collaboration.

Upcoming activations include:

  • Shoot 360 Las Vegas, a national basketball tech facility where Koi Ice will serve as a youth activation vendor while promoting hydration and recovery

  • Miami, Florida with the Nicaragua National Basketball Team during a player downtime and networking activation connected to the Miami Heat arena

  • Summer Smash in Chicago this June alongside major music and cultural activations

At every stop, we’ll continue combining community, culture, hydration, and experience through Koi Ice and Waiākea together.
